To encounter the other — be it a physical one or the encounter with the self — a self that we do not always recognize, could be described as “face to face”. How to represent that face? Each one has a face. How does the other or the “self” look like? It is an ambiguity that cannot be presented in absolute answers.

The “face to face” encounter is described as the ultimate situation. Could this meeting be provoked and/or emblematized without using the face’s ultimate power of expression?

It is a representation paradox that consists of various works, attempting to represent the face through absence and the encounter with that “other” in a cross-border manner, exploring the idea at various levels, materials and mediums as ceramics, sculpture, video, sound and photography.

Att möta den andre – vare sig det är ett fysiskt möte eller ett möte med jaget – ett jag som vi inte alltid känner igen, skulle kunna beskrivas som ”ansikte mot ansikte”. Hur avbildar man det ansiktet? Varje människa har ett ansikte. Hur ser det andra eller ”jaget” ut? Det är en dubbeltydighet som inte kan presenteras genom absoluta svar.

Mötet ”ansikte mot ansikte” beskrivs som den ultimata situationen. Kan det här mötet provoceras fram och/eller symboliseras utan att man använder ansiktets definitiva uttryckskraft?

Det är en representationsparadox som består av olika verk som försöker representera ansiktet genom frånvaron och mötet med detta ”andra” på ett gränsöverskridande sätt och utforskar idén på olika nivåer, genom olika material och medier, såsom keramik, skulptur, video, ljud och foto.
