Slowness

There are many phenomena that are faster nowadays in terms of speed then the same phenomena at an earlier stage. When the societal speed increases it also creates different expectations on those who wants to be included and a major distance to the contrast, slowness. Slowness becomes something unfamiliar or strange and almost frightening.

My project addresses speed in relations to an everyday experience or occurrence. The approach or attitude of slowness is my objective, the object and the occurrence are my means.

Långsamhet

Många är företeelserna som förhåller sig snabbare i detta nu än hur samma företeelser förhöll sig i relation till hastighet i ett tidigare skede. När det samhälleliga tempot skruvas upp skapas dels andra förväntningar på de individer som skall ingå och dels en avgrundslång distans till kontrasten långsamhet. Långsamhet blir något främmande och närmast skräckinjagande.

Mitt arbete behandlar hastighet i relation till en vardaglig händelse. Långsamhetens förhållningssätt är målet, tinget och händelsen är mina medel.
