The starting points of my work are scenes/situations from our everyday life. I am interested in the subtle violence that often goes unnoticed as we are coexisting and inhabiting the public realm. The scenes are my observations from the subway. The subway is a closed, confined space where we coexist for different periods of time. There is a scene and an audience with every observed situation. What type of roles are we playing when communicating violence or xenophobia? What role is “on” and what roles are “off” when we invade or impose others in the public realm?

As a method I work with staging and/or retelling situations that can be experienced as a mix of documentary and staged scenes. I re-write and reinterpret these situations by collaborating with extras, non-actors and dancers that alter the stories from the subway into new situations.

Utgångspunkterna för mitt verk är scener/situationer ur vårt vardagsliv. Jag är intresserad av det subtila våld som ofta passerar obemärkt förbi medan vi samexisterar och befolkar det offentliga rummet. Scenerna är mina observationer från tunnelbanan. Tunnelbanan är ett slutet, instängt rum där vi samexisterar under olika perioder av vår tid. Det finns en scen och en publik för varje observerad situation. Vilka slag av roller spelar vi när vi kommunicerar våld eller främlingsfientlighet? Vilken roll är ”på” och vilka roller är ”av” när vi invaderar eller tränger oss på andra i det offentliga rummet?

Som metod arbetar jag med att iscensätta och/eller återberätta situationer som kan upplevas som en mix av dokumentär och regisserade scener. Jag skriver om och omtolkar de här situationerna genom att samarbeta med statister, ickeskådespelare och dansare, som förändrar berättelserna från tunnelbanan till nya situationer.
